Enid Blyton's Famous Five book series began life in 1942 and have gone on to become amongst the best-loved stories ever to have been written for children. Twenty one books were written in all, featuring the exciting adventures of Julian, Anne, Dick, George and Timmy the dog. A brand new animated Famous Five TV series has now been commissioned. A Chorion co-production with Marathon and in association with France 3 and the Disney Channel, the new series of 26 x 22 minute episodes, due to hit screens in 2008, focuses on the adventures of the children of the original Famous Five. With stories being developed for television by Douglas Tuber and Tim Maile (writers for Lizzie McGuire, Disney Channel’s hit comedy), these new programmes will remain faithful to the themes of mystery and adventure central to Enid Blyton’s classic series of books.
